Well, not quite "raising" but moreso leaning on for support...
{{{Sighs}}}...never thought nor did I want to see the day come again when I had to break it out,..uhmm.."break it out"..uhgg..bad..let's say dust it off instead, which is what I had to do since putting it out of sight since 2006 after my broken knee mended. Good thing really, that I decided to hang onto all of the items for "in case" and "in case" came.
Now, besides the point that I don't want to walk round with a cane for many reasons..I see the need to as does my foot. What I forgot but am actually liking now are the manners that people are exuding in my limping cane bearing presense. People running slightly ahead of me and opening doors with a smile,..elevators included, people wanting to fetch things for me and so on..ahhhhhhhh...LOVE IT!! You know, I could really milk this thing ;-) Alright,..I wouldn't do that although the temptation is clearly there. I LOVE manners not to mention the fact of the satisfaction it does others to show them {manners} while helping another out. This world SO lacks simple manners like "please", "thank you", "excuse me", "you're welcome" etc etc etc. I do appreciate them that's for sure. Makes me want to go back to the turn of the century for that alone. For what I've seen thus far in this day..gives me hope....
Now,..the one thing I should do is make a placard to hand around my neck explaining what happened to my foot! FFS..I'm sick to death of telling the same thing over and over when asked!! OOPS..me manners..;-) :-p
“Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use.”
Emily Post.
